Introduction :
Southern Gonounnayan Samity (SGS) is a non-govt., non-profitable and non-political voluntary development organization. SGS has been carrying out comprehensive implementation of development programs over two decades (25 years) particularly since 1983. SGS has acclaimed its mission statement as ?Guide by the aspirations of local communities. This organization works with poorest of the poor, vulnerable and ill-fated human beings to attack on roots of poverty?.

Operations under UPHCP-II
The SGS has been contracted to provide primary health care and related services under UPHCP-II in project area i.e. PA02 under Khulna City Corporation (KCC). This area functions under the respective project implementation unit (PIU) of the City Corporation.

Shouthern Gonounnayan Samity (SGS) is an experienced NGO in health care sector. Its service area is PA-2 of KCC located in Khulna city covering mainly 16, 17, 18, 21, 23, 25 and 26 No Wards. Population of the catchments area is 1,28,704. There are 4188 Households are Red Card Holders. Total Manpower of SGS, KCC, PA-2 is 178.

Facilities for Delivery of Services
SGS under UPHCP-II, PA-2, KCC provides the health care services through 7 PHCCs, 1 CRHCC, 1 Primary Eye Care Center and 1 VCCT Center and 120 Satellite Clinics.
